InfoPath Form Services Missing from SharePoint Server 2010

I had an issue reported today where a user was trying to configure InfoPath Form services for a SharePoint 2010 Site. 

Normally there is a section in Central Administration under General Application Settings called InfoPath Forms Services. On our server the section was missing entirely.

Disabling Proofing Tools and related options Word 2010 for an Exam

In this post i am going to be describing an issue that has for a long time not been well documented, by either Microsoft or anyone else.

We had an exam requirement for many years for computer based exams to disable the spell check, thesaurus and grammar check facility and to remove the ability to re-enable it.

MS in their infinite wisdom created ADMX/ADM templates that give admins the ability to disable some of the proofing tools in a GPO. However this does not disable the ability to re-enable these options from the GUI. Also in the Word 2010 ADMX templates, MS have REMOVED the option to disable Spell Check!

I found a couple of articles which were very helpful and pretty much gave me the answer i needed. The articles were for Word 2007 so i have ported them to Word 2010.

Migrating a 2003 Certificate Authority (CA) to 2008 R2

We recently had a requirement to migrate an old Windows Server 2003 Standard Certificate Authority server, to a new 2008 R2 Enterprise system.

Moodle Upgrade - Command Line

Recently i found that when attempting to upgrade a large Moodle site using the conventional browser based method, the server had a nasty habit of timing out on me. It is also notoriously difficult to see what is going on during an upgrade, when all you get is the spinning wheel in a browser.

Personally i found upgrading using the command line, much easier and much more informative than using the WFE.

SQL Server 2008 Restore - Error 3154: The backup set holds a backup of a database other than the existing database.

I came across an issue today where i needed to restore a backup of a database. The database backup needed to be restored to a database with a different name, but with the original database still in production on the same server. 

When you attempt it you get the error below.

This can create an issue because the backup wants to restore to its original file location. The error isn't really very helpful.
